Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. - Collier County Museums Summer Homeschool Day: "History of Florida Fishing"
Visit the Collier County Museums for their next Homeschool Day! My kids and I always have a great time at these events, which feature hands-on activities for preschoolers through high schoolers...
And they're FREE!
RSVP on their webpage. It isn't required, but it helps the museum plan to have enough supplies for everyone. Also, the event is a "drop-in." (You don't need to arrive at 10, and you don't need to stay all three hours.)
This isn't a formal Secular Liberty group event, but it's worth your time to check it out. We'll be there, so if you see us come over to say hi!

Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024 - Mummy Paper Roll Crafts & Pumpkin Decorating!
Spooky season is fast approaching, so it's time to get all wrapped up in Halloween excitement with a mummy craft!
At this event, we'll making toilet paper roll mummies. Please bring a toilet paper roll (or paper towel roll cut down to the size of a toilet paper roll) for each of your children who want to participate.
We'll also have colorful Sharpie markers on hand for anyone who wants to bring a pumpkin to decorate.
This is a free event, but...
Please RSVP by 9/20 so I can make sure I have enough additional mummy-making supplies on hand.

Join us as we decorate ornaments to be displayed on our Christmas tree along the Edison & Ford Winter Estates' Children's Tree Trail!
Families who participate can view all the trees at the FREE Opening Night on Monday, November 25.
Ornament decorating with us is a FREE event, but you must RSVP in advance so we can make sure we have enough materials for everyone.

We love that old-school television special: A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. And yet, good grief, we've gone all these years without having popcorn & jellybeans on Thanksgiving. Well that changes now!
Let's celebrate the holiday with those awesome treats and whatever else you may want to contribute.

Friday, January 10, 2025 - Help NICU babies & their families with the Heart to Heart Program (Part 1 of 3) — Tag Decorating
Lee Health’s Heart to Heart Program helps NICU babies bond with their parents by giving two fabric hearts to each NICU family — one placed near the baby and the other one for the mother to wear. Why?
Research shows that parental — especially maternal — scent can help create the familiarity the baby needs to start and continue breastfeeding. But they need help creating these oh-so-important hearts. And Secular Liberty Homeschoolers answered the call in 2024 by donating more than 200 hearts to Cape Coral Hospital.
This year we’re hoping to make at least as many hearts for Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida in time for a donation on Valentine’s Day 2025.
At this event, kids can decorate our templated tags with well-wishes that we'll pair with each set of hearts we donate. Look for two other soon-to-be announced events to cut and assemble the hearts.

Friday, April 4, 2025 - Wilderness preserve program & self-guided nature walk
Join us for a program all about the plants and wildlife that live in one of our beautiful local preserves. The program lasts about 20 minutes and is FREE for 30 kids on a first-come-first-served basis. (Please remember our group rule that you must remain with your child.) After the program, we'll go on a self-guided walk along the trails.

Tuesday, April 8, 2025 - It's our first-ever SCIENCE FAIR!
Secular Liberty Homeschoolers is partnering with another local homeschool group to provide our kids with a wonderful opportunity to share their science know-how. Children will display their work and have a chance to present to other participating kids & parents.
So whether your child created a huge baking soda volcano, built a circuit to make a lightbulb glow or grew a bowery full of amazing plants, now's their chance to show their stuff!
This is a free event; however, DONATIONS ARE APPRECIATED to help cover the cost of renting the pavilion for kids' displays. Thank you in advance.

Game on! We've put on a couple of great talent shows for a local assisted living residence over the past year. This June, we're going off stage for some fun game time with our talented kids' biggest fans.

Friday, June 27, 2025 - Independence Day Party!
Join us as we celebrate the birth of our nation with a super-fun craft & snacks! Our rocket craft last year was such a blast (pun intended) that we're following up with a homemade confetti popper craft!
Please bring a toilet paper roll for each of your children who'll participate. (We'll provide the other supplies). Then come ready to decorate, launch some confetti and see who's popper packs the most powerful pops!
